LIVE - Image Analysis Best Practices at the ENVI Rapid Learning Series!

Last Wednesday, October 16th, kicked off the first in a series of webinars called the ENVI Rapid Learning Series. The Series is designed to be a forum where current and potential image analysts can tune in to see practical applications of image analysis conducted by some of the top remote sensing experts here at Exelis. The webinars last approximately 30 minutes, and consist of a short(10-15 minute) live demonstration of ENVI functionality, followed by 10-15 minutes of Q&A.  They will be conducted live, every Wednesday from 12-1230 pm mountain time through December 18th.

Last week's session covered interoperability between ENVI image analysis software and ArcGIS® from Esri®. For the last few years, Exelis has been a platinum business partner with Esri, and we have worked in concert to integrate the power of ENVI image analysis with the ArcGIS interface. Functionality shown included pushing data layers between the two interfaces, geolinking the visual displays, pushing extracted LiDAR features from ENVI LiDAR to ArcGIS, accessing ENVI functionality from within the ArcToolbox, accessing ArcGIS REST endpoints in ENVI, and more. ENVI - ArcGIS® interoperability being shown during the ENVI Rapid Learning Series

One of the real benefits of the Rapid Learning Series is the ability for analysts to come together and ask questions about the problems they are currently working on. For many folks, it is not feasible to attend one of our training classes in person,so these webinars have become a convenient way for analysts to remotely interact with us and get useful information about image analysis. Topics for the series are gleaned through our solutions teams and cover a wide range of topics including the use of NITF imagery, NDVI image transformations, using Landsat 8 imagery,and more. The Q&A section really gives the attendees the chance to get personal advice and feedback on the questions or issues they might be having.
